How to Draw a Santa and His Reindeer

Step 1: Santa's face

On the left draw a round face. Draw a long fluffy band across the top of it.

Step 2: Floppy hat

From the band draw a hat that flops over to the left. Add a round pompom on its tip.

Step 3: Beard and moustache

Draw 2 dot eyes and a round nose. Under it draw a curly moustache and a big beard.

Tip Rub out the chin line inside the beard.

Step 4: Coat and belt

Under the beard draw a wide coat. Add a fur line, a black belt and a yellow buckle.

Step 5: Arms and mittens

On each side draw an arm hanging down from the shoulder. End each one with a black mitten.

Step 6: Black boots

Draw a ground line. Under the coat draw 2 tall boots with toes pointing out, and colour them black.

Step 7: Reindeer head

Next to Santa draw a big soft head, wider than tall. Add a leaf ear on each side.

Step 8: Reindeer face

Draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots. Add a snout poking out, a red nose and a smile.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the snout. Leave a tiny shine in each eye.

Step 9: Two antlers

On top of the head draw 2 antlers. Each is a curved branch with 2 short twigs.

Step 10: Back and back leg

Start behind the head. Draw the back, round bottom and back leg. Stop at the tummy. Add a tail.

Tip The tail is a small leaf pointing up.

Step 11: Tummy and front leg

Start at the back leg. Draw the tummy, a front leg, then a round chest up to the chin.

Tip Each leg gets thinner on the way down, then flares out for the hoof.

Step 12: Far legs and hooves

Draw 2 more legs peeking out behind. Draw a line across each leg and colour the 4 hooves black.

Step 13: Peach and cream

Go over your lines. Colour Santa's face peach. Colour the antlers and the snout cream.

Step 14: Red and brown

Colour Santa's hat, coat and arms red. Colour the reindeer brown. Leave the eyes, beard and fur white.
