How to Draw a Rug
Draw a rug in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rug.
Step 1: The rug
In the middle of your paper draw a big rectangle, much wider than tall, with soft round corners.
Step 2: The border
Inside it draw a second rectangle, a thumb in from every edge, for the border.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the rug draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, with a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Left tassels
Start on the left edge and draw 9 short straight lines out to the left, close together.
Step 6: Right tassels
Do the same on the right edge: 9 short straight lines out to the right.
Step 7: Two sparkles
Draw a small sparkle star above the top left corner and one below the bottom right corner.
Step 8: Yellow sparkles
Colour the 2 sparkles yellow.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Cream middle
Colour the middle of the rug cream, around the face and the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Red border
Colour the border red, around the cream middle. Go over your lines and your rug is done!
