How to Draw a Diamond Ring
Draw a diamond ring in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the diamond.
Step 1: The diamond
Near the top draw a diamond 3 fingers wide: a flat top, then slanted sides meeting at a point below.
Step 2: The girdle
Start at the left widest point and draw a straight line across to the right widest point.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Below the girdle draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye-width apart. Add big black dots with white shines.
Step 4: The smile
Under the eyes draw a small U smile.
Step 5: The big gold band
Under the diamond draw a big circle, just as wide, tucked behind its point. Add a smaller circle inside.
Step 6: Top facets
Between the top line and the girdle draw a zigzag of 4 slanted lines, cutting the top into triangles.
Step 7: Bottom facet
Below the smile draw a straight line from edge to edge, making a small triangle at the point.
Step 8: Shine
High on the left of the bottom part, just inside the edge, draw one short slanted line for the shine.
Step 9: Sparkles and ground
Draw 4 sparkle stars round the ring. Draw a ground line under the band from well left to well right.
Step 10: Gold and sparkles
Go over your lines, then colour the band and the 4 sparkles yellow like gold.
Step 11: Pink cheeks
Colour a small pink oval cheek under each eye, beside the smile.
Step 12: Sky diamond
Colour the diamond sky blue, around the cheeks, the 2 outside top triangles and the tip. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Blue facets
Colour the 2 outside top triangles and the tip blue, and your diamond ring is done!
