How to Draw a Roller Skate
Draw a roller skate in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the boot sole.
Step 1: The boot sole
Below the middle, draw one long thin slab for the sole, as long as your hand. Tip the toe up.
Step 2: Round toe cap
Start on the sole at the toe. Draw a big half-dome up and over, stopping on the sole further back.
Step 3: Scoop, collar and heel
Start on the toe cap. Draw back, scoop up to the ankle, across the collar, and down the heel.
Step 4: Collar band and tab
Start on the scoop. Draw a band back under the collar top, stopping at the heel. Add a pull tab.
Step 5: Lace panel
Start on the collar band. Draw a long J down beside the scoop, curling forward to stop on the scoop.
Step 6: Wide tongue
Start on the scoop at the collar corner. Draw up and over a wide upside-down U, stopping on the collar.
Step 7: Three lace bars
Across the lace panel, draw 3 short straight bars, one above the other, like ladder rungs.
Step 8: One big bow
On the tongue, draw a small round knot with a fat loop each side. Add 2 ribbon tails hanging down.
Step 9: Star patch
On the heel, draw a circle with a star inside.
Step 10: Plate, wheels, toe stop
Under the sole, draw a short plate with 2 blocks. Add 2 big wheels and a toe stop in front.
Step 11: Ground and sparkles
Draw a long ground line under the wheels. Add 2 little sparkles, one on each side at the top.
Step 12: Yellow wheels, sky bow
Colour the wheels, the star and the sparkles yellow. Colour the bow sky blue.
Step 13: Pink boot, grey plate
Go over your lines. Colour the boot and tongue pink, around the bow, and the plate and toe stop grey.
Tip Leave the toe cap, the sole, the lace panel and the patch white.
