How to Draw a Robot Bird
Draw a robot bird in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: box head.
Step 1: Box head
Near the top left of your paper draw a box head with soft round corners, wider than tall.
Tip Leave room on the right for the body and tail.
Step 2: Bolt eye
On the left of the head draw a 6-sided shape. Inside it draw a round eye and a black dot.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in the black dot. The 6 sides make the eye look like a bolt.
Step 3: Cone beak
On the left of the head draw a pointy triangle beak with a line along it. Add a small smile.
Step 4: Neck and body
Under the head draw a short slanted neck. Join it to a big barrel body with round ends.
Tip The body is wider than the head and sits lower, to the right.
Step 5: Wing plates
On the body draw a wing with 3 round tips at the back. Split it with 2 lines.
Step 6: Tail plates
From the back of the body draw a fan tail with 3 flat ends. Draw 2 lines to split it.
Tip The tail points up and back.
Step 7: Wind-up key
On top of the back draw a thin stem straight up. On it draw a key shaped like a bow.
Tip The bow is 2 round loops that meet at the stem.
Step 8: Thin legs
Under the body draw 2 thin legs. Put a little round knee joint halfway down each.
Tip Each leg bends a little at the knee.
Step 9: Feet and ground
Rule a ground line. On it draw a flat foot under each leg, with 2 toe lines.
Step 10: Three bolts
Draw 3 tiny round bolts: high on the head, at the front of the wing and low on the chest.
Step 11: Yellow parts
Colour the beak, the key and the 6-sided bolt yellow. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Grey metal
Colour the head, neck and body grey, around the yellow bolt and the wing.
Step 13: Blue and dark grey
Go over your lines. Colour the wing and tail blue. Colour the legs, knees and feet dark grey.
