How to Draw a Right Triangle
Draw a right triangle in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall and flat sides.
Step 1: Tall and flat sides
Start at the top and draw a line straight down. Turn a square corner and go across to the right.
Tip The 2 lines make a square corner, like the corner of a book.
Step 2: The slanted side
From the top of the tall line, draw one straight slanted line down to the end of the flat line.
Tip A triangle has 3 straight sides and 3 corners.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Inside the triangle, near the square corner, draw 2 big egg eyes side by side with a small gap.
Step 4: Shiny pupils
In each eye, colour a big black dot. Leave a little white shine in it.
Step 5: Big smile
Leave a gap under the eyes, then draw a wide U smile from under one eye to the other.
Step 6: Rosy cheeks
Beside each end of the smile, draw a small sideways oval for a cheek.
Step 7: Right angle sign
In the square corner, draw a tiny square: a short line across, then one down to the flat side.
Tip This little square means the corner is a right angle.
Step 8: Sparkles
In the empty space beside the slanted side, draw 3 sparkle stars, each with 4 points.
Step 9: The floor
Along the flat side, draw a floor line from far left to far right.
Step 10: Pink and yellow
Colour the 2 cheeks pink. Colour the tiny corner square and the 3 sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Green triangle
Go over your lines and colour the triangle green, around the yellow and pink. Leave the eyes white.
