How to Draw a Quokka
Draw a quokka in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
Near the top, draw a big round head with chubby cheeks. Make it as big as your fist.
Tip The head is about half the whole quokka.
Step 2: Small round ears
On top of the head, draw a small round ear on each side. Add a soft patch inside each.
Step 3: Little nose
Just below the middle of the face, draw a small rounded triangle nose pointing down. Colour it black.
Step 4: Big eyes
On each side of the nose, draw a big egg eye. Add a black dot and shine in each.
Step 5: The famous grin
Draw a short line down from the nose. Add one huge boat smile from under one eye to the other.
Tip Quokkas always look happy: one big smile, nothing else.
Step 6: Pear body
Start under each cheek. Draw a lazy C down each side to meet at the bottom. Add an egg tummy.
Tip The body is a short pear, narrower than the head.
Step 7: Front legs
Under each cheek, draw a short bent arm with a round paw at the chest. Add 2 toes.
Tip Fat shoulder, thin wrist, fat paw: never straight tubes.
Step 8: Back feet
Under each bottom corner of the body, draw a back foot poking out along the ground. Add 2 toe lines.
Step 9: Thin tail
On the right side of the body, draw a thin rat tail curling out and down to the ground.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a flat ground line under the feet and tail, from the left foot to past the tail tip.
Step 11: Cream tummy, peach ears
Colour the tummy cream and the inside of each ear peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Brown fur
Colour the rest of the quokka light brown, around the tummy, ear patches and eyes. Go over your lines.
