How to Draw a Puppet
Draw a puppet in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the sock head.
Step 1: The sock head
Draw an upside-down sock with a V mouth. Curve from the top lip tip down to the bottom tip.
Tip The open mouth is a wide sideways V.
Step 2: Button eyes
On top of the head, above the mouth, draw 2 big round eyes a finger apart, with black dots.
Step 3: Tongue and cheeks
Draw a tongue hump that starts and ends on the bottom lip. Draw a small oval cheek under each eye.
Step 4: Ribbed cuff
Under the sock draw a cuff a little wider than it, with round corners and 4 short lines down it.
Step 5: Two stripes
On the sock's neck draw a curve from the left side across to the right. Draw another a finger below.
Step 6: The sleeve underneath
From under the cuff draw 2 lines bending out a little, then join them with a curved hem.
Tip The arm disappears up inside the sock.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 3 sparkle stars around the puppet: 4 points joined with curves that dip in.
Step 8: Pink and yellow
Colour the cheeks and the tongue pink, and the sparkles yellow.
Step 9: Blue sock, green sleeve
Colour the sock blue around the cheeks and stripe band, leaving the eyes and cuff white. Colour the sleeve green.
Step 10: Red mouth and stripe
Colour the mouth red around the tongue, and the band between the stripes red. Your puppet is ready to talk!
