How to Draw a Potato Masher
Draw a potato masher in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the handle grip.
Step 1: The handle grip
Near the top, in the middle, draw a tall rounded grip, like a long egg with a flat bottom.
Tip A potato masher is a handle with a wide wavy head that squashes potatoes.
Step 2: The stem
From the bottom of the grip draw a thin bar straight down, about as long as the grip.
Step 3: A face
On the grip draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots, a U smile, and a tiny cheek each side.
Step 4: The flat plate
At the bottom of the stem draw a long flat bar across, much wider than the stem, for the plate.
Step 5: The wavy wire
Start under the plate's left end. Draw 4 round U loops side by side, stopping under its right end.
Tip Soft round bumps, not sharp points.
Step 6: A potato
On the right, draw a long lumpy potato, its bottom level with the loops. Add a tiny dot and dash.
Step 7: The ground
Draw a ground line under the masher and the potato, touching their bottoms, from well left to well right.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw a 4-point sparkle on each side of the stem.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Tan potato, grey plate
Colour the potato tan, and the stem and plate light grey.
Step 11: Red grip
Colour the grip red, going around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your masher is ready to mash!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a potato masher, drawn by you.
