How to Draw a Pot

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a pot in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the lid.

Print

  1. Step 1: The lid

Above the middle draw 1 big wide oval. Add a knob on top, starting and stopping on the oval.

Tip The knob sits on the lid like a button.

  2. Step 2: The pot body

From each end of the oval draw a line down, 2 fingers long. Join the bottoms with a wide smile.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Draw 2 big egg eyes in the middle of the pot. Add a black dot and a shine in each.

  4. Step 4: Lid rim

Start on the left side a finger under the oval. Draw a smile across to the right side.

  5. Step 5: Two handles

On each side, under the rim, draw a small fat C sticking out, starting and stopping on the pot.

  6. Step 6: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.

  7. Step 7: Steam

Start just above the lid, each side of the knob. Wiggle a steam line up, stopping above the knob.

  8. Step 8: Stove and shadow

Under the pot draw a flat oval shadow, then a stove line out from each side of it.

  9. Step 9: Pink and grey

Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the shadow, the 2 handles and the knob's stem grey.

  10. Step 10: Teal pot

Go over your lines. Colour the pot teal around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Red lid and knob

Colour the lid and its knob red. Your cooking pot is bubbling away!
