How to Draw a Cloak

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a cloak in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hood.

Print

  1. Step 1: The hood

Near the top draw a big round hood like an upside-down egg, with a gently sagging bottom line.

Tip Make it big: it frames the whole face.

  2. Step 2: The face

Inside the hood draw a round egg for the face, a finger in from the hood line.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the face draw 2 big round eyes side by side, each with a black dot and a shine.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a little U smile, and a small flat oval cheek just outside each end.

  5. Step 5: Shoulders and cloak

From each hood side draw a round shoulder, then a long side down. Join the sides with a curved hem.

Tip Let the sides spread out a little as they go down.

  6. Step 6: Clasp and cord

Under the middle of the hood draw a small round clasp, with a little cord out to each hood corner.

  7. Step 7: Front opening

From the bottom of the clasp draw a straight line down the middle, stopping at the hem.

  8. Step 8: Boots and ground

Draw 2 small boots peeking under the hem, toes out. Rule a ground line under them, left to right.

  9. Step 9: Three stars

Draw 3 small stars on the cloak: 2 on the left side and 1 on the right side.

  10. Step 10: Peach face, pink cheeks

Colour the face peach and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Yellow stars and clasp

Colour the 3 stars and the round clasp yellow.

  12. Step 12: Brown boots

    Colour the 2 boots brown.

  13. Step 13: Purple cloak

Colour the hood and cloak purple, going around the face, clasp and stars. Your cloak is ready!
