How to Draw a Pommel Horse
Draw a pommel horse in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the padded body.
Step 1: The padded body
Across the middle of your paper draw a long fat body with rounded ends, like a loaf of bread.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the body draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, eye to eye. Add an oval cheek below and outside each eye.
Step 4: Two handles
On top draw 2 upside-down U handles, a hand apart, each starting on the body and ending back on it.
Tip Draw a smaller upside-down U inside each handle so it looks thick.
Step 5: Four legs
Under the body draw 4 legs leaning out, 2 each side, each from the body slanting down to the ground.
Tip Each leg is 2 lines close together, joined at the bottom.
Step 6: Feet
On the bottom of each leg draw a small flat foot, a little wider than the leg.
Step 7: Ground line
Start near the left edge. Draw a straight ground line under the feet, stopping near the right edge.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 3 little 4-point sparkles in the air above it, to make it shine.
Step 9: Pink and yellow
Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Grey legs and handles
Colour the handles, legs and feet grey.
Step 11: Red pad
Go over your lines. Colour the padded body red, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a pommel horse, drawn by you.
