How to Draw a Costa Rica Flag

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a costa rica flag in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pole and ground.

Print

  1. Step 1: Pole and ground

Draw a tall thin pole on the left, a ball on top, and a ground line from edge to edge.

  2. Step 2: Top and side

Start on the pole below the ball. Draw a wavy line right, then straight down. Stop halfway down the pole.

Tip This flag is long: nearly twice as long as it is tall.

  3. Step 3: Bottom edge

Start at the bottom of the straight side. Draw a wavy line back to the pole.

Tip The bottom edge copies the waves of the top edge.

  4. Step 4: Two top lines

Near the top draw 2 wavy lines across the flag, from the pole to the right edge.

Tip They make 2 thin bands at the top, both the same height.

  5. Step 5: Two bottom lines

Near the bottom draw 2 more wavy lines across, leaving a wide band in the middle.

Tip The middle band is twice as tall as each thin band.

  6. Step 6: Wind lines

Off the right edge of the flag draw 3 short wind lines.

  7. Step 7: Yellow ball

Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow.

  8. Step 8: Grey pole

    Colour the pole grey.

  9. Step 9: Red band

Colour the wide middle band red.

  10. Step 10: Blue bands

Colour the top band and the bottom band blue. Leave the 2 thin bands next to the red white.

Tip Go over your lines. Your Costa Rica flag is waving!
