How to Draw Tteokbokki
Draw tteokbokki in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little above the middle draw a wide flat oval for the top of the bowl, about a hand across.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a big deep U down and up to the right end.
Step 3: The foot
Under the middle of the bowl draw a short flat foot, a little wider at the bottom than the top.
Step 4: Steam
Above the bowl draw 3 wiggly steam lines going up, one in the middle and one each side.
Step 5: Rice cakes
In the sauce draw 3 fat little sausages with round ends, leaning different ways: back left, middle, back right.
Tip Tilt each one differently and keep them off the front rim.
Step 6: A short one
In front of the left and middle cakes draw one more short, fat rice cake.
Step 7: A fish cake
At the front right draw a little rounded triangle of fish cake lying flat, with a curved line across it.
Step 8: Scallions
Draw 3 little slanted ovals for scallion slices, in the gaps on the sauce.
Step 9: A stripe
Draw a bowed line round the bowl a little under the rim, from the left side to the right side.
Step 10: The table
Draw a line under the foot from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.
Step 11: Tan fish, green scallions
Colour the fish cake tan and the scallion slices green.
Step 12: Red sauce, white cakes
Go over your lines, then colour the sauce red around the fish cake and scallions. Leave the rice cakes white.
Step 13: Navy band and foot
Colour the band under the rim and the foot navy, and leave the rest of the bowl white.
