How to Draw a Pizza Margherita
Draw a pizza margherita in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round plate.
Step 1: Round plate
In the middle, draw a big round plate, nearly as wide as the page.
Step 2: The pizza
Inside the plate, draw a big round pizza. Leave a rim of plate showing all the way round.
Tip A margherita is the classic pizza: tomato, mozzarella and basil.
Step 3: The crust
Draw a second round a finger inside the pizza, all the way round, for the puffy crust.
Step 4: Cut into slices
Start at the top crust. Draw a line straight down, stop at the bottom crust. Cross it with 2 slanted lines.
Step 5: Big mozzarella
On every other slice, draw a big soft round of mozzarella near the crust. That makes 3.
Step 6: Small mozzarella
On the 3 empty slices, draw a smaller soft round of mozzarella nearer the middle.
Step 7: Basil by crust
On each small-mozzarella slice, near the crust, draw a pointed basil leaf. Add a line down its middle.
Step 8: Basil in middle
On the other 3 slices, draw a basil leaf pointing at the centre. Add a line down each.
Step 9: Blue plate
Colour the plate sky blue, all the way around the pizza.
Step 10: Tan crust
Colour the crust ring tan.
Step 11: Green basil
Colour the 6 basil leaves green.
Step 12: Red sauce
Colour the sauce red, around the mozzarella and basil. Leave the mozzarella white. Go over your lines. Done!
