How to Draw a Borzoi
Draw a borzoi in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long narrow head.
Step 1: Long narrow head
Near the top left, draw a long narrow head, round at the back and tapering smoothly to the nose.
Tip Make the head more than twice as long as it is tall.
Step 2: Eye, nose and smile
Near the back of the head, draw one big eye. Add a black nose on the tip and a smile.
Step 3: Folded ear
Behind the eye, draw a small ear folded back along the top of the head, with a fold line inside.
Step 4: Slim neck
From under the ear, draw a curve down to the back. Add one from under the jaw to the chest.
Step 5: Arched body
From the neck, draw an arched back, a round bottom, a tummy tucked up high and a deep chest.
Step 6: Two long legs
Draw a slim leg from the chest and a bent leg from the bottom. End each in a round paw.
Step 7: Far legs
Draw the 2 far legs peeking out, one behind the front leg and one in front of the back leg.
Step 8: Feathery tail
From the top of the bottom, draw a long low tail sweeping up at the tip, with soft waves underneath.
Step 9: Back patch
Start on the back behind the neck. Draw a wavy patch line and bring it back up before the tail.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a long flat ground line under all 4 paws, from below the nose to past the tail.
Step 11: Cream coat
Go over your lines. Colour the dog cream, but not the ear or the back patch. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Tan ear and patch
Colour the ear and the patch on the back tan.
