How to Draw a Pinball Machine

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a pinball machine in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the backbox.

Print

  1. Step 1: The backbox

Near the top, draw a wide box with rounded top corners, wider than tall. This is the backbox.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

On the backbox, draw 2 big round eyes side by side, each with a black dot and white shine.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes, draw a wide smile and a small oval cheek on each side.

  4. Step 4: The marquee

Across the top of the backbox, draw a straight line. Add a little 4-point star above it.

  5. Step 5: Table and rails

From the backbox corners, draw the table sloping down and out. Draw a rail inside each side, top to bottom.

  6. Step 6: Front and legs

Under the table, draw a flat strip for the front. Add a short leg under each end.

  7. Step 7: Lane and bumpers

Draw a lane line on the right, from the front nearly to the top. Add 3 bumpers in a triangle.

  8. Step 8: Flippers and ball

Near the bottom of the table, draw 2 short fat paddles tilted like a V. Add a small ball above.

Tip You flick the flippers to whack the ball back up.

  9. Step 9: Buttons and coin slot

Draw a round bump button on each end of the front strip, and a little slot in the middle.

  10. Step 10: Ground and sparkles

Draw a ground line under the legs, from far left to far right, and 2 sparkle stars beside the backbox.

  11. Step 11: Sky table, yellow star

Colour the table sky blue around the bumpers, flippers and ball. Colour the star and sparkles yellow.

  12. Step 12: Pink cheeks, grey ball

Colour the cheeks pink, and the ball and coin slot grey.

  13. Step 13: Red and purple

Colour the bumpers, flippers and buttons red. Colour the machine purple around the face, star and slot.

Tip Leave the eyes white. Then go over your lines and flick those flippers!
