How to Draw a Peninsula
Draw a peninsula in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the mainland coast.
Step 1: The mainland coast
Start at the left edge, a quarter of the way down. Draw a wavy line right. Stop before the middle.
Tip The land above this line is the mainland.
Step 2: The west side
Carry on from there. Curve down and a little left. Stop most of the way down the paper.
Step 3: Round the tip
Carry on from there round the bottom like a big U. Stop level with where you turned down.
Tip Make the finger of land a bit fatter near its tip.
Step 4: Back to the edge
Carry on from there. Curve out to the right in a gently wavy line. Stop at the right edge.
Step 5: The beach
Draw a second line just inside the coast, all the way along, from edge to edge.
Step 6: Three trees
On the finger of land draw 3 trees: a short trunk with a round lumpy top each.
Step 7: Mountains
On the mainland, top left, draw 3 triangle mountains in a row.
Step 8: Waves
In the sea draw 4 short wavy lines, 2 on each side, not touching the land.
Step 9: Sandy beach
Colour the thin beach strip sandy yellow, all the way along the coast.
Step 10: Green land
Colour the land leaf green, going around the trees and mountains, up to the top edge.
Step 11: Blue sea
Colour the sea blue on all 3 sides of the finger of land, out to the edges.
Step 12: Dark green trees
Colour the 3 lumpy tree tops dark green.
Step 13: Brown to finish
Colour the 3 trunks and the 3 mountains brown. Go over your lines and your peninsula is done!
