How to Draw a Pegasus Flying

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a pegasus flying in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: peanut head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Peanut head

Near the top left, draw a fat peanut leaning down for the head: a big cheek and a small nose.

Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the body.

  2. Step 2: Eye and nose

Draw a big oval eye with a shine. Add a curve across the nose, a nostril and a smile.

  3. Step 3: The ears

On top of the head, draw a leaf ear with a smaller leaf inside, and a second ear behind.

Tip Add a floppy lock of hair. Rub out the head line under each ear.

  4. Step 4: The neck

Start behind the head. Draw the neck top down to the right. Draw the front, jaw to chest.

Tip The neck is wider at the body than at the head.

  5. Step 5: Bean body

Start at the bottom of the neck. Draw a big soft bean with a round bottom, back to the chest.

Tip Rub out the neck lines inside the body.

  6. Step 6: The mane

Along the top of the neck, draw a row of fat petals for the mane, from ears to shoulders.

Tip Each lock tucks behind the one above, like roof tiles.

  7. Step 7: The wings

Start on the back behind the mane. Draw a big wing up to a point, then down with feather bumps.

Tip Add a second wing behind it. Rub out the back line inside.

  8. Step 8: Two legs

Draw a front leg bending forward from the chest and a back leg stretching back, each to a hoof.

Tip Rub out the body line inside each leg. Draw a line across each hoof.

  9. Step 9: The far legs

Under each near leg, draw a far leg peeking out: just a short leg and a hoof.

Tip Only draw the parts you can see.

  10. Step 10: The tail

From the top of the bottom, draw a wavy tail flowing down to a point. Add a hair line.

  11. Step 11: Clouds below

Under the pegasus, draw 2 puffy clouds: a big one on the left and a small one on the right.

Tip Bumps on top, a flat line underneath.

  12. Step 12: Colour it white

Go over your lines. Colour the body, head and legs white. Colour the nose and ear insides pink.

    Tip Keep the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Blue wings and mane

Colour the wings light blue. Colour the mane, floppy hair and tail dark blue.

  14. Step 14: Colour the hooves

Colour the 4 hooves dark grey.
