How to Draw a Pansy
Draw a pansy in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big petal.
Step 1: The big petal
Near the top of your paper pick a spot. From it draw one huge petal hanging down like a bowl.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the big petal, a thumb below the spot, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: A big smile
Leave a gap under the eyes and draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, ends turning up.
Step 4: Two side petals
From the spot draw a round petal pointing out left, tucked behind the big petal. Draw the same pointing right.
Step 5: Two top petals
From the spot draw a big round petal pointing up-left, then one pointing up-right, so they overlap.
Step 6: The middle
Right on the spot where all the petals meet, draw a small circle for the middle.
Step 7: The stem
Start under the flower. Draw 2 gently curving lines down to near the bottom, wider apart at the bottom.
Step 8: Two leaves
A hand below the flower draw a fat leaf on each side of the stem, with a soft rounded tip.
Step 9: Leaf veins
Start on the stem in the middle of each leaf. Draw a vein out and stop short of the tip.
Step 10: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line from edge to edge, stopping short. Add 2 grass blades each side of the stem.
Step 11: Yellow middle, green stem
Colour the middle yellow. Colour the stem and both leaves green.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, purple petals
Colour 2 pink cheeks, then all 5 petals purple around them and the middle. Leave the eyes white.
