How to Draw a Paddle Boat

Draw a paddle boat in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the waves.

Step 1: The waves
Start at the left edge, below the middle. Draw a line of gentle waves across to the right edge.
Step 2: The hull
Start on the waves left of the middle. Draw a round front, along the deck, and stop on the waves.
Step 3: Porthole eyes
On the hull draw 2 big round portholes for eyes. Add a black dot in each with a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye. Draw a small U smile and stop under the right eye. Add 2 oval cheeks.
Tip Keep a gap between the smile and the eyes.
Step 5: Two seats
On the deck draw 2 seats in a row, each a short rounded back with a cushion in front.
Step 6: Canopy posts
Start on the deck in front of the seats. Draw a thin post up, ending above the seats. Same behind.
Step 7: The canopy
On top of the posts draw a striped sunshade: a flat top, a bumpy bottom edge and 4 stripe lines.
Step 8: Paddle wheel
From the waves at the back draw a big wheel, ending on the waves. Add a small circle and hub.
Tip The bottom of the wheel dips under the water.
Step 9: Paddle boards
Draw 8 spokes from the hub to the small circle. Add short boards between the 2 circles, above the water.
Step 10: Mast and flag
Start on a small oval on the front deck. Draw a thin pole up to canopy height. Add a flag.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, cream hull
Colour the cheeks pink, then the hull cream around the cheeks, eyes and wheel. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Sky seats, blue sea
Colour both seats sky blue. Colour the sea blue from the waves down to the bottom.
Step 13: Red wheel and flag
Colour the wheel red, leaving the hub white. Colour every other stripe and the flag red. Your boat is done!
