How to Draw an Origami Frog
Draw an origami frog in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
In the middle of your paper, draw a wide squat body with 6 straight sides, like a squashed stop sign.
Tip Origami is folded paper: every edge is straight and every corner sharp.
Step 2: The head
On top of the body, draw a low head with straight sides and 2 round eye bumps on top.
Step 3: Big eyes
Inside each bump, draw a round eye with a big black dot and a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
On the body under the eyes, draw a small smile, and a tiny oval cheek on each side.
Step 5: Front feet
Low on the body, draw 2 short flaps, wider at the bottom, down to the ground for the front feet.
Step 6: Back legs
From each side of the body, draw a back leg out to a pointy knee, down to a pointy foot.
Tip The legs are folded like a spring so it can jump.
Step 7: Fold lines
Draw a line from the head's top edge down to the body, and one across the body under the smile.
Step 8: The ground
Draw a ground line across the paper along the bottom of the feet.
Step 9: Sparkles
Add 3 sparkle stars around the frog: 4 dots like a plus sign joined with curves that dip in.
Step 10: Cheeks and stars
Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Leaf legs
Colour the back legs a lighter leaf green, so they look like the other side of the paper.
Step 12: Green paper
Colour the body, the head and the front feet green, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
