How to Draw an Oregon Flag
Draw an oregon flag in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top. Add a ball.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Wave the top edge out to the right, come down, and wave back.
Tip Make the flag long and big. It has to hold a shield, 3 words and a year.
Step 3: The shield
In the middle draw a shield: a flat top, 2 sides that bulge out, and a point at the bottom.
Tip Leave room above it for words and below it for a year.
Step 4: The setting sun
Start on the shield's left side, draw a line across, stop on the right. Add a half circle on it.
Step 5: Sun rays
Draw 3 short rays. Start each on the sun and stop before the edge of the shield.
Step 6: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 7: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 8: Golden shield
Colour the whole shield golden yellow.
Step 9: The words
With a yellow crayon write STATE OF OREGON in capital letters, in a curve above the shield.
Tip Write thick letters. Start near the pole so all 3 words fit.
Step 10: The year
Under the shield write 1859 in yellow. That is the year Oregon became a state.
Step 11: Tiny stars
With yellow, dot tiny stars all round the sides and bottom of the shield.
Tip The real flag has 33 stars, because Oregon was the 33rd state.
Step 12: Dark blue flag
Colour the rest of the flag dark blue, around the shield, the words, the year and the stars.
Tip Go over your lines. Your Oregon flag is waving!
