How to Draw an Electrical Outlet
Draw an electrical outlet in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the plate.
Step 1: The plate
In the middle draw a tall box with rounded corners, taller than it is wide.
Step 2: Top socket
In the top half draw a wide shape with a flat top, a flat bottom and round sides.
Tip Keep the same space on the left and the right.
Step 3: Bottom socket
Draw the same shape again in the bottom half. Leave a gap between the two.
Step 4: Top slots
In the top socket draw 2 tall thin slots side by side, like the number 11.
Step 5: Top hole
Under the 2 slots, in the middle, draw a small arch with a flat bottom.
Step 6: Bottom slots
In the bottom socket draw 2 more tall thin slots, the same as before.
Step 7: Bottom hole
Under them draw one more small arch with a flat bottom.
Step 8: The screw
In the gap between the sockets draw a small circle with a short line across it.
Step 9: Cream sockets
Go over your lines. Colour both sockets cream, around the slots and the holes.
Step 10: Sand plate
Colour the plate a sandy colour, around the sockets and the screw.
Step 11: Grey and black
Colour the screw grey, then colour the slots and holes black. Your outlet is done!

Your finished drawing
