How to Draw an Oklahoma Map
Draw an oklahoma map in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the long top.
Step 1: The long top
Start near the left edge, above the middle. Draw a long straight line to the right. Stop near the edge.
Tip Oklahoma is a wide state, so use the whole width of your paper.
Step 2: The right side
Carry on from the right end. Draw a line down with a tiny bend halfway. Stop below the middle.
Step 3: The river bank
Carry on from there with a wavy line going left and up a little. Stop halfway along.
Tip The bottom of Oklahoma is a big wavy river, the Red River.
Step 4: More river bank
Start where you stopped. Draw more waves climbing left. Stop below the top line, a third of the way along.
Step 5: The left side
Carry on from there. Draw a straight line up. Stop just below the top line.
Step 6: The handle
Carry on from there. Draw a straight line left. Stop under the start of the top line.
Tip This thin strip is called the Panhandle, like the handle of a pan.
Step 7: Close the handle
Draw a short line up to join the start of your top line.
Step 8: Two mountains
In the bottom right corner draw 2 triangle mountains, one a little lower than the other.
Step 9: The capital star
In the middle of the wide part, draw a star for the capital city.
Tip The capital is called Oklahoma City.
Step 10: Green land
Go over your lines. Colour all the land green, around the mountains and the star.
Step 11: Brown mountains
Colour the 2 mountains brown.
Step 12: Red star
Colour the star red. Your map of Oklahoma is done!
