How to Draw a Missouri Map
Draw a missouri map in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top edge.
Step 1: The top edge
Start near the top left corner. Draw a long straight line to the right. Stop past the middle.
Tip Leave lots of room below this line for the rest of the map.
Step 2: The big river
Carry on from the right end. Draw a wiggly line slanting down to the right. Stop at a small bump.
Tip This side follows a huge river, the Mississippi.
Step 3: More river
Carry on from the bump. Dip in, then wiggle down to the right. Stop at the far right point.
Step 4: The heel side
Start at that point. Draw a short wiggly line down, leaning left. Stop near the bottom of your paper.
Step 5: The boot heel
Carry on from there. Draw a short flat line left, then slant back up to the right and stop.
Tip This little bit sticking down is called the Bootheel.
Step 6: The bottom edge
Carry on from there. Draw a long straight line to the left. Stop before the edge of your paper.
Step 7: The left side
Carry on from there. Draw a long straight line up. Stop about two thirds of the way up.
Step 8: The river corner
Carry on from there. Draw a wiggly line slanting up to the left. Join the start of your top line.
Tip Another big river, the Missouri, makes this corner.
Step 9: The capital star
In the middle of the map, draw a star for the capital city, Jefferson City.
Step 10: The Ozark hills
Below the star, draw 3 little triangle hills in a row, the middle one biggest.
Tip On a map, little triangles show where the hills and mountains are.
Step 11: Green land
Go over your lines. Colour all the land green, around the star and the 3 hills.
Step 12: Brown and red
Colour the 3 hills brown and the star red. Your map of Missouri is done!
