How to Draw an Ogre

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw an ogre in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper, draw a big head, wider than tall, like an egg on its side.

Tip The head is almost half of the whole ogre.

  2. Step 2: Ears and tuft

From each side of the head, draw a stubby pointed ear out and back. Add a zigzag tuft on top.

Tip Ogre ears stick out at the sides by the eyes, not up on top like a bear's.

  3. Step 3: Eyes and heavy brow

Across the middle, draw 2 big eyes close together, with black dots. Add one thick arched brow just above.

  4. Step 4: Ball nose

Under the eyes, in the middle, draw a round ball nose about as big as an eye.

Tip Leave a small gap between the eyes and the nose.

  5. Step 5: Smile and two tusks

Below the nose, draw one wide smile from eye to eye. Add a little tusk poking up at each end.

  6. Step 6: The big belly

Under the cheeks, draw a big pear body, widest low down.

Tip The body is narrower than the head, like a pear tucked under the chin.

  7. Step 7: Arms and mittens

From under each cheek, draw a thick arm down the body, bending in to a round mitten on the belly.

  8. Step 8: Hips and feet

Halfway down the body, draw a hip bump on each side, with a long flat foot under it, toes out.

  9. Step 9: Wart and ground

Draw a little wart inside one cheek, and a ground line under the feet.

  10. Step 10: Pink nose, light wart

Colour the nose pink and the wart light green. Leave the eyes and tusks white.

  11. Step 11: Green skin, brown hair

Colour the ogre green, going around the eyes, nose, tusks, wart and brow. Colour the tuft and brow brown.
