How to Draw a Nutcracker
Draw a nutcracker in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.
Step 1: Big head
Near the top of your paper draw a big round head, a little wider at the cheeks.
Step 2: Tall soldier hat
Draw a tall hat on the head, a band across the bottom, side to side, and a ball on top.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Under the hat draw 2 big round eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Nose and moustache
Draw a round nose under the eyes. Under the nose, draw a wide moustache that curls up at each end.
Step 5: Big smile and beard
Under the moustache draw a wide open smile. Draw a short beard under the smile.
Step 6: Soldier jacket
Under the beard draw a jacket with long sleeves that hang a little away from its sides.
Step 7: Shoulder pads
On each shoulder, draw a curved line from the top of the jacket down to the sleeve's outside edge.
Step 8: Round mittens
At the end of each sleeve, draw a round mitten.
Step 9: Belt and buttons
Draw a buckle low on the jacket. Draw 2 belt lines from side to side, and 3 buttons above.
Step 10: Legs and boots
Start under the jacket and draw 2 straight legs, stopping at 2 boots, toes out. Add a ground line.
Step 11: Gold trim
Colour the hat band, shoulder pads, buttons and buckle yellow.
Step 12: Peach face, red smile
Colour the face peach and the smile red. Leave the eyes, moustache, beard and mittens white.
Step 13: Red jacket, blue trousers
Colour the jacket and pom-pom red, around the pads, buttons and belt. Colour the trousers blue.
Step 14: Black hat and boots
Colour the hat, belt and boots black, around the band and buckle. Go over your lines.
