How to Draw a Number Balloon
Draw a number balloon in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top of the 7.
Step 1: Top of the 7
Start in the middle. Draw a line left, round a fat end, back along the top. Stop past the corner.
Tip Make it really fat, with round ends, so it looks blown up.
Step 2: Fat stem
From the corner draw the stem slanting down. Go round the bottom and back up to your start.
Tip Keep the stem as fat as the top.
Step 3: Tied end
Under the bottom of the 7 draw a little tied end that gets wider, like a tiny bell.
Step 4: Wavy string
Start at the tied end. Draw a short wavy string hanging down. Stop near the bottom of your paper.
Step 5: Round balloon
On the right draw a small egg balloon. Add a tiny tied end under it.
Tip The round balloon is much smaller than the 7.
Step 6: Second string
Start under the small balloon. Draw a long wavy string hanging down. Stop level with the first string.
Step 7: Shine marks
Inside the 7 draw a long thin shine and a dot on top, and a long shine on the stem.
Tip Shine marks make the balloon look shiny and full of air.
Step 8: Small shine
Inside the round balloon draw one small curved shine, up on the left side.
Step 9: Crinkle lines
At the inside corner of the 7 draw 3 short lines fanning out, like folds in foil.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw 3 sparkles around the balloons. Each one is a star with 4 points.
Tip Keep the sparkles away from the balloons and strings.
Step 11: Yellow 7
Colour the 7, its tied end and the 3 sparkles yellow. Leave the shine marks white.
Step 12: Red balloon
Colour the round balloon and its tied end red. Leave its shine white. Your number balloon is done!
