How to Draw Christmas Lights
Draw Christmas lights in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the wire.
Step 1: The wire
Draw a long wire drooping in a gentle U, starting and stopping a little way in from the sides.
Tip Start a third of the way down the paper.
Step 2: Five sockets
Along the wire, draw 5 little boxes hanging under it, evenly spaced, for the sockets.
Tip The end ones lean out a little, following the wire.
Step 3: The middle bulb
Under the middle socket, hang a fat teardrop bulb, its top as wide as the socket.
Step 4: Four more bulbs
Hang the same fat teardrop bulb under each of the other 4 sockets, leaning the way each socket leans.
Step 5: Shines
On the left side of each bulb draw one short curved shine line, following the edge.
Step 6: Socket ridges
Across the middle of each socket draw one short line from side to side, so the socket looks ridged.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw a small sparkle star under each end of the wire, and one above the middle of the wire.
Step 8: Yellow and red
Colour the second bulb and the 3 sparkles yellow, then colour the two end bulbs red.
Step 9: Green and blue bulbs
Colour the middle bulb green and the fourth bulb blue.
Step 10: Grey sockets
Colour the sockets dark grey. Go over your lines and your Christmas lights are glowing!
