How to Draw a Neem Tree
Draw a neem tree in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the leafy top.
Step 1: The leafy top
Start on the left, near the middle. Draw a big round rainbow of soft bumps and stop on the right.
Tip Make it tall and round like a dome: a neem tree gives lots of shade.
Step 2: Bumps underneath
Start where the rainbow ended. Draw 5 shallow bumps back across to the left, until you meet the start.
Step 3: The trunk
Start under the leaves, left of the middle. Draw a line down to a curvy root. Do the right too.
Tip Keep the trunk straight and strong, wider where it meets the leaves.
Step 4: Two branches
Start on the bottom of the leaves, left of the middle. Draw a skinny V into the trunk and up.
Step 5: First feather leaf
High in the leaves draw a short line down. Add 5 pointed leaflets: 2 pairs and 1 on the end.
Tip Neem leaves look like feathers: little pointed leaflets in pairs along a stalk.
Step 6: Second feather leaf
Draw the same feather leaf lower down on the left, leaning out to the left.
Step 7: Third feather leaf
Draw one more on the right, leaning out to the right.
Step 8: Bark lines
Draw 3 short curved lines down the trunk for rough bark. Each one starts and stops inside the trunk.
Step 9: Ground and grass
Draw a long ground line under the trunk, from well left to well right. Add grass blades beside the trunk.
Step 10: Light green top
Go over your lines, then colour the leafy top light green, around the 3 feather leaves.
Step 11: Dark green leaflets
Colour all 15 pointed leaflets dark green.
Step 12: Brown trunk
Colour the trunk and both branches brown, leaving the V empty. Your neem tree is done!
