How to Draw a Mushroom
Draw a mushroom in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cap.
Step 1: The cap
Near the top, draw a big dome from left to right. Join its ends with 4 shallow bumps.
Step 2: The stem
From the cap edge, left of the middle, draw a chunky stem down, round the foot, back to the edge.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the stem, below the cap, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a wide U smile from under the left eye to the right eye. Add 2 oval cheeks.
Step 5: Spots
Draw round spots on the cap, clear of the edges: 3 big ones and 3 small ones.
Step 6: Underside
On each side, start at the cap corner. Draw a curve down that stops on the stem.
Step 7: Gills
Inside each curve, draw 2 short gill lines from the cap edge down to the curve.
Step 8: The ground
Start near the left edge. Draw a soft ground line under the foot, stop near the right edge.
Step 9: Grass
Beside the foot on each side, draw a grass tuft: 2 pointy blades leaning out from the ground.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, cream stem
Colour the cheeks pink, then the stem and the cap's underside cream around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Red cap, green grass
Colour the cap red around the white spots, and the grass green. Go over your lines to finish!
