How to Draw a Mountain
Draw a mountain in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big peak.
Step 1: Big peak
Start low on your paper, left of middle. Slant up to a sharp point, then down to the same height.
Step 2: Ground line
Along the bottom of the mountain, draw a long flat ground line almost from edge to edge.
Step 3: Second peak
Start on the big mountain's right slope. Slant up to a lower point and back down to the ground line.
Step 4: Snow caps
A little below each point, draw a zigzag from one slope across to the other for the snow.
Step 5: The sun
Near the top right corner, a thumb in from the edges, draw a small round sun.
Step 6: Sun rays
A little way out from the sun draw 8 short straight rays all round it, like wheel spokes.
Step 7: A cloud
In the top left draw a small puffy cloud: 4 round bumps over the top, 2 shallow bumps underneath.
Step 8: Little pine trees
At the foot of the mountains draw 3 little pointy triangle trees, a finger above the ground.
Step 9: Tree trunks
Under each tree, start on the bottom of the triangle. Draw a short line down to the ground, across, up.
Step 10: Yellow sun
Colour the sun yellow.
Step 11: Green trees, wood trunks
Colour the 3 little trees leaf green and their stubby trunks wood brown.
Step 12: Grey mountains, white snow
Go over your lines. Colour both mountains grey around the trees. Leave the snow caps white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a mountain, drawn by you.
