How to Draw a Blimp
Draw a blimp in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the fat balloon.
Step 1: The fat balloon
Across your paper draw a big fat cigar lying down. Round at the front, softly round at the back.
Tip Make it long: most of the paper.
Step 2: Big eyes
On the round front draw 2 big eyes. Add a black dot and a shine, and leave the eyes white.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Tail fins
Start on the top line, draw a fin, stop at the tail. Same underneath, then a flat middle fin.
Step 5: The band
Behind the eyes, start on the top line and draw a curve down to the bottom. Add a second one.
Step 6: The cabin
Under the belly draw 2 posts. Start at the left post, draw a rounded box, stop at the right post.
Step 7: Cabin windows
In the cabin draw 2 small square windows with round corners, side by side.
Step 8: Propeller
Start on the back of the cabin. Draw a short line back and stop. Add a bow tie there.
Step 9: Clouds
Draw 3 puffy clouds around the blimp. Each one is a few bumps on top and a flat line underneath.
Step 10: Cream and pink
Go over your lines. Colour the balloon and fins cream, around the eyes, cheeks and band. Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Blue sky
Colour the windows sky blue. Colour the sky blue all around the blimp, leaving the clouds white.
Step 12: Grey cabin, red band
Colour the cabin and little circle grey, around the windows. Colour the band and bow tie red, around the circle.
