How to Draw a Monster Family
Draw a monster family in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall dad monster.
Step 1: Tall dad monster
On the left of your paper draw a tall bean for the biggest monster, round at the top and bottom.
Tip Leave room to the right for 2 more monsters on the same ground.
Step 2: Dad's face
High on the tall bean draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Add a shallow U smile and eyebrows.
Step 3: Round mum monster
Next to it, a little lower, draw a round egg for the middle monster, shorter and rounder than the first.
Step 4: Tiny baby monster
On the right draw a small egg for the baby, only as tall as the mum's tummy, standing level.
Step 5: Mum's and baby's faces
Mum gets 2 round eyes with dots, and eyebrows. Baby gets 2 big black dot eyes. Add 2 smiles.
Step 6: Horns and antenna
Dad gets 2 curved horns, baby one tiny horn. Mum gets an antenna, from the body up to a ball.
Step 7: Stubby arms
On each side of every monster draw a short arm sloping down and out, ending in a round hand.
Step 8: Little feet and ground
Under each monster draw 2 little oval feet poking out. Then draw one long ground line under all the feet.
Step 9: Spots and tummy
Draw 3 round spots on the dad's tummy and a big oval tummy patch low on the mum.
Step 10: Yellow and tan
Colour the dad's spots and the mum's tummy patch yellow, and the dad's horns tan.
Step 11: Green baby, red ball
Colour the baby green, horn and all, and the antenna ball red.
Step 12: Purple mum, blue dad
Colour the mum purple and the dad blue, around the spots, tummy and eyes. Your monster family is done!
