How to Draw a Molecule
Draw a molecule in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big ball.
Step 1: The big ball
A little below the middle of your paper draw a round circle, about 3 fingers wide.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the circle, above the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes, 1 eye-width apart. Add a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 4: Left stick
From the top left of the ball draw a short fat stick up and out: 2 lines a finger apart.
Tip Like a thick little arm.
Step 5: Right stick
Do the same on the top right: a short fat stick of 2 lines pointing up and out.
Step 6: Two small balls
On the end of each stick draw a smaller round ball, about 2 fingers wide, covering the stick end.
Step 7: Shines
On each ball draw a short curved shine near its top left edge, away from the eyes.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 4 sparkle stars round the molecule, one near each corner.
Step 9: Yellow sparkles, grey sticks
Colour the 4 sparkles yellow and the 2 sticks grey.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, blue balls
Colour the cheeks pink and the 2 small balls blue.
Step 11: Red ball
Colour the big ball red around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Your molecule is done!
