How to Draw a Crying Emoji
Draw a crying emoji in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the face.
Step 1: The face
In the middle of your paper, draw one big round face, nearly as big as the page.
Step 2: Crying eyes
Above the middle, draw 2 eyes squeezed shut: each a small U curve like a little smile, a gap apart.
Step 3: Sad eyebrows
Above each eye, draw a short line sloping up toward the middle of the face, like a little roof.
Step 4: The wailing mouth
Below the eyes, draw a big wide-open mouth: a straight line across the top and a fat U underneath.
Step 5: Teeth
Just under the top line, draw a gentle curve from corner to corner for the bottom of the teeth.
Step 6: Tongue
At the bottom of the mouth, draw an upside-down U for the tongue, starting and ending on the mouth line.
Step 7: Tear streams
From the outside end of each eye, draw a tear stream down the cheek, getting wider, with a round bottom.
Tip Big waterfalls of tears make it a real crying emoji.
Step 8: Shine
Near the top left, a finger inside the edge, draw a short curved line following the circle, for the shine.
Step 9: Colour it yellow
Colour the face bright yellow, going around the mouth and the two tear streams.
Step 10: Pink tongue, red mouth
Colour the tongue pink and the rest of the mouth red, leaving the teeth white.
Step 11: Blue tears
Colour the two tear streams blue. Go over your lines and your crying emoji is done.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a crying emoji, drawn by you.
