How to Draw Miso Soup
Draw miso soup in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
Above the middle of your paper draw a wide flat oval, about a hand wide, for the bowl's top.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a big U down and round, stopping at the right end.
Step 3: The foot
Draw a short stand under the bowl: start at bottom left, go down, across, and stop at bottom right.
Step 4: The soup
Inside the rim draw a second flat oval a finger inside it for the soup.
Step 5: Tofu cubes
In the soup draw 3 little tilted squares, spread out, for cubes of tofu.
Step 6: Seaweed
Draw 2 short wavy lines floating in the soup, for ribbons of seaweed.
Step 7: Spring onion
Draw 3 tiny rounds here and there in the soup for spring onion rings.
Step 8: Steam
Above the bowl draw 3 wiggly steam lines going up.
Step 9: A stripe
Draw a bowed line round the bowl a little under the rim, from the left side to the right side.
Step 10: The table
Draw a line under the foot from well left to well right, just touching its bottom.
Step 11: Tan soup, white tofu
Go over your lines, then colour the soup tan inside the inner oval, leaving the tofu cubes white.
Step 12: Green onion
Colour the spring onion rings green.
Step 13: Red bowl, black band
Colour the bowl, its foot and the rim around the soup red. Colour the band under the rim black.
