How to Draw Mercury
Draw Mercury in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the planet.
Step 1: The planet
Draw a big round planet a little right of the middle, leaving room for a sun at the top left.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the planet draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 3: Big smile
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from under the left eye over to the right eye.
Step 4: Two big craters
Above the eyes draw 2 round craters: a bigger circle on the left and a smaller one on the right.
Step 5: Three small craters
Near the edge draw 3 small craters: one on the left, one on the right, one low on the right.
Step 6: The sun
In the top left corner draw a big round sun, near the planet. Mercury is closest to it!
Step 7: Sun rays
Around the sun draw 8 short straight rays pointing out, a little way out from its edge.
Step 8: Stars
Around the planet draw 3 small 5-point stars, one near each of the other corners.
Step 9: Yellow sun and stars
Colour the sun and the 3 stars yellow.
Step 10: Rosy cheeks
Beside each end of the smile, colour a small pink oval for a rosy cheek.
Step 11: Stone planet
Colour the planet pale stone grey around the eyes, cheeks and craters. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey craters
Colour the 5 craters darker grey. Go over your lines and Mercury is done!
