How to Draw an Africa Map
Draw an africa map in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top coast.
Step 1: The top coast
Start near the top left. Draw a bumpy line across to the right. Stop near the right side.
Tip Africa is wide and round at the top and narrower at the bottom.
Step 2: Down to the horn
Carry on from there. Slant down to the right, then poke out to a sharp point.
Step 3: The east coast
Start at the point. Slant back down to the left, with a small bump out at the end.
Step 4: The bottom tip
Carry on from the bump. Curve in, then down and round the bottom. Stop at the lowest point.
Step 5: The west coast
Start at the lowest point. Draw a line up the left side. Stop at a corner halfway up.
Step 6: Under the bulge
Start at the corner. Draw a bumpy line out to the left, then curve up. Stop at the far left.
Step 7: Close the bulge
Start where you stopped. Curve up and to the right. Stop where your first line began.
Step 8: The big island
Off the right side, near the bottom, draw a long island like a bean standing up.
Step 9: Lake and river
Draw a small round lake right of the middle. From it, wiggle a long river up to the top coast.
Tip This is the Nile, one of the longest rivers in the world.
Step 10: The mountains
Draw 2 little triangle mountains in the top left and 1 more on the right, above the lake.
Step 11: Blue sea
Go over your lines. Colour the sea and the lake light blue, out to the edges.
Step 12: Green land
Colour the land and the island green, around the lake and the 3 mountains.
Step 13: Brown mountains
Colour the 3 mountains brown. Your map of Africa is done!

Your finished drawing
