How to Draw a Laurel Wreath

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a laurel wreath in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two stems.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two stems

Start below the middle. Sweep a big C out left and up, stopping near the top. Same on the right.

Tip Leave a gap at the top: a wreath is open, not a full circle.

  2. Step 2: Leaves on the left

Along the left stem draw 7 pointed leaves, taking turns inside and outside, all the way up.

  3. Step 3: Leaves on the right

Do the same along the right stem: 7 pointed leaves taking turns, all the way up to the tip.

  4. Step 4: The bow

Where the stems meet at the bottom draw a small oval knot, with a fat loop swinging out each side.

  5. Step 5: Ribbon tails

Under the bow draw 2 ribbon tails hanging down from the knot, each ending in a little V notch.

  6. Step 6: Sparkles

Draw a sparkle star in the gap above the wreath and a smaller one off each side.

  7. Step 7: Green leaves left

Go over your lines, then colour all the leaves on the left stem green.

  8. Step 8: Green leaves right

Colour all the leaves on the right stem green too.

  9. Step 9: Red bow

Colour the knot, the loops and the ribbon tails red.

  10. Step 10: Yellow sparkles

Colour the 3 sparkles yellow. Your laurel wreath is done!
