How to Draw a Medal
Draw a medal in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the medal.
Step 1: The medal
In the middle of your paper, a little low, draw one big round circle as wide as your hand.
Tip A little low leaves room for the ribbon above.
Step 2: Bumpy edge
Start on the left of the circle, below the top. Draw small hill bumps round it, stopping on the right.
Tip Leave the very top plain: the ring goes there.
Step 3: The ring
On top of the medal draw a small ring, sitting a little way onto the circle. Add a tiny hole.
Step 4: The ribbon
From the ring draw 2 fat bands up and out like a V, each 2 lines wide, notched on top.
Step 5: Big eyes
Below the middle of the medal draw 2 big round eyes, about half an eye apart.
Step 6: Pupils and shine
Colour a big black dot in each eye, leaving a little round white shine at the top left.
Step 7: Smile and cheeks
Draw a wide U smile from under one eye to under the other. Add an oval cheek beyond each end.
Step 8: The star
Between the ring and the eyes draw a 5-point star, a little smaller than an eye.
Step 9: Ribbon stripes
Start in the notch of each band and draw one line down its middle, stopping at the ring.
Step 10: Sparkles
On the left, a finger from the bumps, draw a 4-point sparkle. Draw a smaller one low on the right.
Step 11: Yellow medal
Colour the whole medal yellow, bumps, ring and sparkles too, going round the star and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Red and blue ribbon
Colour each band's outside strip and the star red. Colour the inside strips and the ring's hole blue.
Step 13: Pink cheeks
Colour the 2 cheeks pink. Then go over all your lines.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a medal, drawn by you.
