How to Draw a Marker
Draw a marker in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the barrel.
Step 1: The barrel
Start high, left of the middle. Draw down and stop past the middle. Draw another a hand to the right.
Step 2: The cap on top
Across the top draw a box, wider than the barrel. Hang a thin clip from its top, on the right.
Step 3: A happy face
Above the middle of the barrel draw 2 big round eyes. Under them draw a wide U smile.
Step 4: The shoulder
Start at the bottom of the left line. Slant down, go flat across, and slant up to the right line.
Step 5: The tip
From the flat part of the shoulder draw 2 short lines down and join them across: the flat felt tip.
Step 6: The label
Start on the left edge under the cap and draw a line across to the right. Repeat under the smile.
Step 7: Rosy cheeks
Draw a small oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 8: The cap ring
Start on the left edge of the cap and draw a line across to the right edge.
Step 9: The squiggle
Start under the tip. Draw a fat wavy line out to the right and stop near the edge.
Step 10: Peach cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks peach, and leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Blue cap, barrel, squiggle
Colour the cap around the clip, the barrel above and below the label, and the squiggle blue.
Step 12: Navy tip and clip
Colour the felt tip and the clip navy, and your marker is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a marker, drawn by you.
