How to Draw a Broom

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a broom in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stick.

Print

  1. Step 1: The stick

From near the top of your paper draw a long thin stick straight down, past the middle.

Tip Long and thin like a pencil without a point.

  2. Step 2: The bristles

Under the stick draw a wide skirt shape with a flat top and 6 round bumps along the bottom.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Draw 2 big round eyes high on the fan. Add a black dot and a shine in each.

  4. Step 4: The band

Over the top of the fan, round the bottom of the stick, draw a short wide band.

  5. Step 5: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a small U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.

  6. Step 6: Bristle lines

Inside the fan draw a line near each side. Under the smile draw 3 short lines down to the bumps.

  7. Step 7: Stitches

Draw a line across the middle of the band, side to side. Add 3 short stitches across it.

  8. Step 8: Floor and sparkles

Under the broom draw a floor line from side to side. Beside the stick draw 2 sparkle stars.

  9. Step 9: Yellow bristles

Go over your lines. Colour the bristles and sparkles yellow, leaving the eyes and cheeks white.

  10. Step 10: Red band, wood stick

Colour the band red and the stick wood brown.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks

Colour the cheeks pink, and your broom is ready to sweep!
