How to Draw a Demolition Crane
Draw a demolition crane in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the track.
Step 1: The track
Low on the left draw a long flat track with round ends, like a sausage lying down.
Tip Leave room on the right for the wall.
Step 2: Three wheels
Inside the track draw 3 round wheels in a row.
Tip Keep the wheels the same size, with a gap between them.
Step 3: The cab
On the track draw a box with a sloping front. Add a window in the front.
Step 4: Long arm
From the cab roof draw 2 long lines leaning up to the right. Join them at the top.
Step 5: Zigzag braces
Start at the cab roof. Zigzag up between the 2 lines, stopping near the top.
Step 6: Wrecking ball
Start at the arm tip. Draw a cable down and stop at a little cap. Hang a big ball under.
Step 7: Brick wall
Right of the ball draw a tall wall. Give its top left corner 2 broken steps.
Tip The ball has knocked the corner off, so the top goes up like stairs.
Step 8: Brick rows
Draw 5 lines across the wall to make rows of bricks.
Step 9: Brick ends
Draw short lines down in each row. Move them along in the next row, like real bricks.
Step 10: Falling bricks
Draw 2 bricks falling under the ball and 1 on the ground. Add a ground line.
Step 11: Yellow and sky
Colour the cab and the long arm yellow. Colour the window sky blue.
Step 12: Grey and red
Colour the 3 wheels grey. Colour the wall and the 3 bricks red.
Step 13: Dark grey ball
Colour the ball, its cap and the track dark grey, around the wheels.
