How to Draw a Macaron Stack
Draw a macaron stack in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big dome.
Step 1: The big dome
Low on the page, draw a wide low dome with a row of fat little bumps along its bottom.
Tip A macaron is 2 crisp shells with cream between.
Step 2: Bottom shell
A finger below, draw a matching shell: bumps along its top, soft round corners and a flat bottom.
Step 3: Cream ends
Join the 2 shells with a small round bulge at each end, poking out a little, for the cream.
Step 4: Middle macaron
Sit a smaller macaron right on the dome: a bottom shell, a bumpy dome above, cream ends between.
Step 5: Top macaron
Sit a third, smaller again, on the middle dome the same way, with its flat bottom resting there.
Step 6: Shines
On the upper left of each dome, draw a small slanted oval for a shine.
Step 7: A plate
From the bottom shell's left side, draw a flat oval plate round to its right, and a rim inside.
Step 8: The table
Draw a table line from well left of the plate to well right, passing behind it.
Step 9: Cream fillings
Colour the 3 cream fillings cream, right up to the bumps.
Step 10: Yellow macaron
Colour both shells of the top macaron yellow, bumps too, leaving the shine white.
Step 11: Pink macaron
Colour both shells of the bottom macaron pink, leaving the shine white.
Step 12: Sky plate
Colour the plate sky blue, around the macarons.
Step 13: Green macaron
Colour both shells of the middle macaron green, leaving the shine white. Go over your lines, and you're done!
