How to Draw a Lucky Cat
Draw a lucky cat in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: chubby head.
Step 1: Chubby head
Near the top, draw a big egg lying down, with chubby cheeks and 2 little fur points on each cheek.
Tip The head is more than half of the whole cat.
Step 2: Pointy ears
Start high on each side. Draw a pointy ear, ending on the head near the top. Add a triangle inside.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Below the middle of the head, draw 2 oval eyes an eye apart. Colour big black dots, leaving white shines.
Step 4: Nose and W smile
Draw an upside-down triangle nose below the eyes. From its point, draw a W smile out to under each eye.
Tip Both smile curves start at the very same spot on the nose.
Step 5: Body and bib
Start under each cheek. Draw a big C down and round to the bottom. Add a bib with a bell.
Step 6: One paw waving
From the left of the bib, draw a chunky arm up beside the head. Add a round paw on top.
Tip The arm is fat at the elbow and thinner at the paw.
Step 7: Other front leg
Start on the right of the bib. Draw a U leg down to a mitten paw, back to the bib.
Step 8: Long curling tail
Start on the right hip. Draw a long tail down to the ground, curling up to a round tip.
Tip Thumb-thick at the hip, finger-thin at the tip.
Step 9: Back paws
Under each hip, start on the ground and draw a plump bun paw up and over, behind the front paw.
Tip Back paws poke out sideways so the cat really sits.
Step 10: Coin and whiskers
Over the right leg, draw a big oval coin with a smaller oval inside. Add 2 whiskers on each cheek.
Step 11: The ground
Draw a flat ground line under the paws, from left of the cat to just past the tail.
Step 12: Red bib, gold coin
Go over your lines. Leave the fur white. Colour the bib red, and the coin and bell yellow like gold.
Step 13: Pink ears and pads
Colour the ear insides, the nose and the paw pads pink. Add a pink spot on each cheek.
