How to Draw a Log with a Face
Draw a log with a face in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cut end.
Step 1: The cut end
On the left, a little below the middle, draw a tall upright oval as tall as your thumb.
Tip The log lies down, so this oval is its round cut end.
Step 2: The long log
From the top and bottom of the oval, draw 2 long lines across the paper. Round off the far end.
Step 3: A friendly face
On the right of the log, draw 2 big oval eyes with dots, 2 eyebrows above and a smile below.
Step 4: Tree rings
Inside the cut end, draw 2 smaller ovals, one inside the other, for the tree rings.
Step 5: Bark lines
Draw 2 curved bark lines from just under the top edge to just above the bottom, one near each end.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a ground line right across the paper, under the log. Add a grass tuft at each end.
Step 7: Two mushrooms
On the log, left of middle, draw 2 mushrooms like little umbrellas: a short stem and a round cap.
Tip Make one mushroom bigger than the other.
Step 8: A ladybug
Near the far end, draw a ladybug on the log: a tiny head, a line down its back, 2 spots.
Step 9: Tan end, pink cheeks
Colour the cut end tan. Add a pink circle on each cheek beside the smile.
Step 10: Wood-brown log
Colour the log wood brown, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Red caps, black head
Colour the mushroom caps and the ladybug red, and its head black. Go over your lines.
