How to Draw a Lioness

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a lioness in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the face.

Print

  1. Step 1: The face

Near the top of your paper draw a fat egg face with round cheeks and a soft round chin.

Tip Leave half the paper below for the body.

  2. Step 2: Ears and eyes

Put a small round ear high on each side. Draw 2 big egg eyes across the middle, with black dots.

Tip The eyes are big, about as wide as your thumb.

  3. Step 3: Nose and cheek pads

Under the eyes draw a small black triangle nose, point down. Under it draw 2 plump oval cheek pads, touching.

Tip The nose point sits in the little V between the pads.

  4. Step 4: Smile and whiskers

Start under the left pad. Draw a shallow smile, stopping under the right pad. Add 2 whiskers beside each pad.

  5. Step 5: Ground and body

Draw a ground line a hand below the chin. From each cheek draw the body down to a plump seat.

Tip The body is narrower than the face and swells out at the seat.

  6. Step 6: Front legs

Draw a small rainbow on the chest. From each end draw a leg down to a fat mitten paw.

Tip The paw puffs out fatter than the ankle and sits flat on the ground.

  7. Step 7: Back paws

Beside each front paw draw a plump bun for the back paw, tucked half behind the front paw.

  8. Step 8: Tail with a tuft

From the seat draw a thick tail along the ground and curling up. Put an egg tuft on the end.

Tip Thick where it leaves the body, thin at the tuft.

  9. Step 9: Toes and inner ears

Draw 2 toe curves in each front paw and one in each back paw. Add a rainbow in each ear.

  10. Step 10: Sand fur

Colour the lioness sand, around the cheek pads, inner ears and tail tuft. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Peach cheeks, brown tuft

Colour the cheek pads and inner ears peach, then the tail tuft brown. Your lioness is done!
