How to Draw a Lily
Draw a lily in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle.
Step 1: The middle
In the top third of your paper draw a small circle, about as big as a grape.
Step 2: Three petals
Start on the circle. Draw a long pointy petal up and back to it. Add 2 more, like a Y.
Step 3: Three more petals
In each of the 3 gaps draw the same long pointed petal, so 6 petals go round like a star.
Step 4: Petal lines
Start on the circle inside each petal. Draw one straight line up the middle and stop short of the point.
Step 5: Six stamens
Start on the circle in each gap between petals. Draw a thin line out, ending in a tiny oval.
Step 6: The stem
Start at the sides of the bottom petal. Draw 2 long, gently curved lines down to near the bottom.
Step 7: Two long leaves
Start on the stem. Draw a long thin leaf out and up to a point, then back. Do both.
Step 8: Leaf veins
Start on the stem in the middle of each leaf. Draw one curved vein out, stopping short of the tip.
Step 9: Ground and grass
Start left, draw a ground line under the stem, stop at the right. Add 2 grass tufts out wide.
Step 10: Yellow middle, orange petals
Colour the middle and the 6 stamen tips yellow. Then colour all 6 petals orange.
Step 11: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and both leaves green. Go over your lines and your lily is done!
